Update on InToxFIRE's Second Workshop: 5.25 CPD Hours Accredited

InToxFIRE team is delighted to announce that 5.25 CPD hours have been accredited by Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) to the Second InToxFIRE Workshop, recognizing its professional and scientific value.

The workshop, titled “The Journey of Contaminants: Connecting Fireground Exposures, PPE and Health Impacts”, to be held in-person on 30 April 2026 at Carlton Hotel, Dublin Airport.

The workshop is supported by Ulster University (United Kingdom), UL Research Institutes (ULRI, United States) and The Institution of Fire Engineers Republic of Ireland Branch (IFE, Ireland). It is FREE and there are still some places available.

Programme

This workshop is to be delivered as a part of the ongoing InToxFIRE research project, funded by UL Research Institutes (ULRI). It aims to focus on advanced understanding of contaminant exposures encountered during fireground operations and their implications for firefighter health, personal protective equipment (PPE), and contamination control strategies. The programme includes invited brilliant speakers from UK, USA, and Ireland along with InToxFIRE team, providing scientific, operational, and regulatory perspectives altogether.

Access the venue by public transport:

-        From Dublin Airport: A Shuttle Bus Service is available 24/7 which runs up to every 30 minutes between the Carlton Hotel and Dublin Airport Zone 16, near Terminal 1 & 2. The journey takes approximately 5 minutes and is complimentary for delegates registered to the workshop.

-        From Dublin City Centre to Dublin Airport: A range of buses and coaches are available from Dublin city centre to the Carlton Hotel Dublin Airport, such as lines 27B, 41, 41C.

-        From Belfast to Dublin Airport: Dublin Express Coaches or Translink Dublin Coach Services run services from Belfast Grand Central Station to Dublin Airport.

Parking:

On-site secure car parking space is available in the hotel (park and pay service). It might be busy in the workshop’s day, however, Dublin airport has different parking areas to be booked and used. EV charging is available with multiple stations in the hotel’s car park.

For those unable to attend in person, an online participation option is under planning. Details of the online format and access links will be shared at a later date. No CPD hours have been allocated for the online version.
